Making Banana on a cracker

Children enjoyed the process of making banana on a cracker. They see, touched and smelt the colors. They smelt and felt the textures of the cream crackers, bananas, cinnamon sticks and spice powder.
Sze Jie smelt the cinnamon stick and said: “Yup ! smelly !”

Howe Yu smelt the banana and said,”Ba-na-na nice,yummy! Yummy! “

Zachary smelt the banana with cinnamon powder and said: “ Yuk! Ba-na-na ! smelly! “ He started eating his hand-made banana on a cracker.

The children learnt new words - cream cracker, banana, cinnamon stick and spice powder. They learnt to peel and mash the bananas into chunks and place them on a piece of cracker. Throughout the process, the children explored the ingredients by smell, touch and eat.


Sze Jie used her five fingers to grasp onto the cinnamon stick and smelt the cinnamon stick with her nose.  She said:” Yuk! Smelly! “

 


Howe Yu used his five fingers to grasp onto the banana and smelt the banana skin with his nose. Howe Yu  said:” Banana, Nice smell ! Yummy! Yummy! “  

Ilyf used his two hands to grasp onto the paper plate and smelt the banana chunks  which was placed onto the plate by himself. He looked at the teacher and said: “Banana, nice!”

Jie Xi used her five fingers to grasp onto the cinnamon powder and poured it onto the banana on the cracker. She said,” Yuk!” after smelling the cinnamon powder with her nose. She started eating the cracker with banana, she said, “ Nice! “ after eating.


 
Upon completion to break the bananas into chunks and placed them onto the plate. Zachary sprinkled a little cinnamon powder on his banana. Zachary Said,” Yuk!  Smelly! “ He started eating the banana and cracker. After eating,  Zachary said:”Banana,  biscuit,yummy! Yummy!”


The children were engaged in the process of peeling and breaking the bananas into chunks before placing them on a piece of cracker. Throughout the process the children explored the ingredients by smelling, touching and eating. They said:” Bananas sweet, biscuits crispy, nice,”
